1, What is an LED Tube Light?

LED tube light is a retrofit for traditional fluorescent tube, it is a new type of light source which is environmental protection and energy-saving, it can fully replace traditional lighting fixtures such as incandescent lamp and energy-saving lamp. It is widely used in hotels, bars, corridors, commercial places, toilets, western restaurants, museums, exhibition halls, gatehouse signs, warehouses, home lighting, jewelry lighting, atmosphere creation and other projects. Its characteristics are mainly reflected in two aspects of energy saving and environmental protection. The size and installation method are the same as the traditional fluorescent lamp, but the LED tube light uses LED semiconductor as the light source, and the light effect is softer and easy for people to accept. Its service life can exceed 50,000 hours. It can work under a wide voltage range of 85¬-277V. According to the shell material, there are mainly glass tube lamps, aluminum-plastic lamps and all-plastic lamps. The luminous efficiency is generally between 90lm/W-200lm/W. 2, LED tube model types

T5: There are two types of T5 LED integrated tube lamp and T5 split lamp, and split lamps are with external power supply due to small size.

T6: Designed as replacement of T5 tube, but it’s with built in power supply.

T8: The most widely used model, include oval tube lamps, round tube lamps and integrated tube lamps.

T10: Less applications, generally used for higher power lighting

T12: Less applications, generally used for higher power lighting

3. LED tube dimensions

LED tube light and traditional fluorescent lamps are the same in appearance and caliber. The power is generally between 6W-36W, and the power can be customized. Its length is: 60cm, 120cm, 150cm, 180cm, 240cm, etc.;

The letter "T" is mainly used for the naming of lamp models, and "T" stands for "Tube", which means tubular lamps. The number at the back represents the diameter of the tube, and each "T" is 1/8 inch. One inch is equal to 25.4 millimeters.

Calculated as a diameter: the diameter of T8 is 1 inch (2.54 cm), and the diameter of T5 is (5/8)*25.4=12.7mm. Calculate from this:

T5 = 16MM

T6 = 19.05MM

T8 = 25.4MM

T10 = 31.8MM

T12= 38.1MM

This diameter is the theoretical pipe diameter, and the actual pipe diameter may have an error of ±2mm from this data. In addition, sometimes the size includes the thickness of the end plug. For example, the following are the sizes of Light Victor tube lamp with end plug as follows:

Note: The end cap of LED tube light are generally uses G5 (PIN needle distance 5mm), for T5/T6; G13 (PIN needle distance 13mm) for T8
