In 1907, Henry Joseph Round detected electroluminescence in a piece of silicon carbide for the first time

In 1936, George Destiau published a report on light emission from zinc sulfide powder. With the wide application and recognition of electric current, the term "electroluminescence" finally appeared.

In the 1950s, British scientists used semiconductor gallium arsenide in electroluminescence experiments and invented the first modern LED, and it was published in the 1960s.

In 1962, the first red light-emitting diode (type GaAsP) developed by Nick Holonyak from the United States was put on the market. The first LED in the visible wavelength range marked the beginning of industrial production of LEDs.

In 1965, the world's first commercialized light-emitting diode was born. It was an infrared light-emitting LED made of germanium. The unit price at that time was about US$45.

In 1971, due to the development of new semiconductor materials, LEDs have new colors: green, orange and yellow. The performance and effectiveness of LEDs continue to improve.

A major technological breakthrough in the early 1980s was the development of AlGaAsLED, which can emit red light with a luminous efficiency of 10 lumens per watt.

In 1994, Japanese scientist Shuji Nakamura developed the first blue light-emitting diode on a GaN substrate, which triggered an upsurge in the research and development of GaN-based LEDs.

In 1995, the first LED that emits white light through luminescence conversion was presented to the public, and it was put on the market two years later.

In 2000, the luminous efficiency of the white LED reached 17LM/W

In 2008, the luminous efficiency of white LEDs exceeded 100LM/W. This efficiency is second only to gas discharge lamps.

In 2010, a specific color LED with a luminous efficiency of 250 lumens per watt was developed under laboratory conditions. The progress of LED technology is keep moving forward.

In 2015, LIGHT VICTOR was estabilished.

The history of LED has been passed down for decades. During these decades, LED lights have entered thousands of households. This is the general trend and the inevitable history. LED lights are expensive and the craftsmanship is quite exquisite. In terms of materials, craftsmanship, production, service life, energy saving, safety and installation, LED lights have unparalleled advantages.

Nowadays, LED lighting fixtures are with higher peformance and more function like smart lighting and become more and more commonly used, it is a way of saving energy.
